TurkStream Pipeline Project – HSE and Logistics Support
Our involvement in the TurkStream Pipeline Project focused on delivering comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) services, ensuring the highest safety standards were adhered to throughout the project’s operations. This collaboration supported the construction of one of the most significant natural gas pipeline infrastructures, connecting Russian gas supplies to Turkey and Southern Europe.
Client Scope and Services Provided
Our client was responsible for providing a wide range of logistical services, including:
- Transportation: Efficient and secure transportation of pipes from manufacturers to designated sites.
- Storage: Proper handling and storage of pipes at interim facilities to prevent damage and facilitate streamlined operations.
- Pipe Processing: Specialized services such as bevelling, cutting quadruple joint pipes into double and single joints to meet project specifications.
The pipes sourced for the project were manufactured by leading suppliers such as Sumitomo Corporation and Europipe, ensuring high-quality materials for the pipeline.
Heavy and Complex Lifting Operations
The project involved intricate heavy lifting operations to manage pipes of varying lengths, ranging from 10 meters to 48 meters. This included:
- Unloading and Loading: Safe and precise handling of pipes during transportation phases.
- Specialized Equipment Use: Utilization of advanced lifting equipment to manage the complex logistics and heavy weight of the pipes.
HSE Focus
Our team ensured compliance with international and local HSE standards throughout all operations. This included:
- Conducting risk assessments for lifting and pipe-handling activities.
- Implementing safety protocols to prevent incidents during transportation and pipe processing.
- Training personnel on best practices for working with heavy loads and hazardous conditions.
